It’s that time of year North Texas! The cold air is returning. We want to make sure you’re prepared for the unpredictability of our Texas weather. Follow these tips & your home will thank you!
Assure Your Water Heater Is Running Properly
As you can tell by our social posts, thee water heater is one of our biggest calls each year, but especially in the Winter. We encourage you to call Crown Plumbing Service to inspect things as we head into the colder months. When it comes to adjusting your water heater temperature, never go above 125 degree F.
The Kitchen Is Busier
A tip in the kitchen, specifically the garbage disposal, is to turn it on first before putting your scraps in there. After the machine has finished, shut it off and run plenty of warm water through it to prepare for the next use.
Protect Your Pipes
While North Texas isn’t as cold as other places, we still do run into our fair share of freeze warnings. To protect your pipes in these conditions, make sure to turn off all outside water valves. Also, finding un-insulated areas of the home are key for warmth as well as energy savings. Wrapping un-insulated pipes with form or towels for the season will save you big!
Happy Winter, North Texas!
